George Roberts – President

George has over twenty years of new product development experience in a range of industries including specialty materials, automotive and renewable energy. He founded TechScale Solutions in 2014 to assist companies in transitioning clean energy technologies into viable commercial products. George leads the consulting engagements and has worked with a range of large scale and start-up clients in the areas of fuel cells, hydrogen generation, energy storage and microgrid development.

Prior to founding TechScale Solutions, he was the Vice President of Engineering at Hy9 Corporation where he led engineering and product development initiatives to transition the company into a viable commercial entity. He drove a shift from technology development to commercialization of low-cost, high-performance hydrogen generators and hydrogen purifiers for the stationary/backup power industry.

Previous to Hy9, he was the Manager of Component Development Engineering at UTC Power (division of United Technologies Corporation) where he developed technical solutions and supply chain relationships to reduce costs of key components in stationary and automotive fuel cell power plants.  He has also held product development positions at W.L. Gore and Associates which were focused on the development of high strength polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) materials for industrial and consumer applications. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.


Laura Gregory Roberts – Advisor

Laura has over twenty years of information technology and engineering experience in process improvements and systems implementations. She has worked in a variety of industries including consulting, manufacturing, logistics and healthcare at international and domestic corporations.

Laura’s expertise is in project management and systems implementations including ERP Systems such as PeopleSoft and JD Edwards. She has also implemented other systems including budgeting, business analytics and electronic medical records applications to ensure technology and processes are utilized in the most effective manner.

Her experience includes roles at Deloitte & Touche and Ernst & Young where she focused on information technology implementations in the manufacturing and health care industries. Laura also served as an Industrial Engineer at TNT Logistics and W.L. Gore and Associates implementing systems and new processes in logistics and manufacturing operations.

Laura holds an M.B.A. from the University of Delaware in addition to a B.S. in Management Engineering/Industrial Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She currently serves on the Industrial Engineer Advisory Board at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In addition, she earned the distinction of the “Top 40 under 40 Leaders” by Connecticut Magazine (2011).
