You can count on us to guide your team through all product development phases.

George Roberts – Founder and President
George has more than 30 years of experience guiding the transition of advanced technologies from laboratory prototypes to deployable products across specialty materials, automotive, and clean energy industries. He founded TechScale Solutions in 2014 to help companies navigate the often-challenging path from technical demonstration to commercial readiness, with a focus on aligning product definition, manufacturing strategy, cost reduction, and team development.
At TechScale Solutions, George leads consulting engagements for both startups and established companies, supporting the maturation of prototype technologies into product platforms capable of real-world deployment. His work spans fuel cells, hydrogen generation, carbon dioxide conversion, energy storage, and microgrid systems, with particular emphasis on execution planning, organizational readiness, and scaling beyond pilot projects.
Prior to founding TechScale Solutions, George served as Vice President of Engineering at Hy9 Corporation, where he led engineering and product development initiatives focused on transitioning the company’s hydrogen generation and purification technologies from early prototypes toward commercial-grade systems for stationary and backup power applications. His role centered on shifting development efforts from exploratory R&D to productization, manufacturability, and cost performance, providing firsthand experience with the challenges of bridging technology readiness and market requirements.
Earlier in his career, George was Manager of Component Development Engineering at UTC Power (a division of United Technologies Corporation), where he drove cost reduction and supplier development for key components used in stationary and automotive fuel cell power plants. He also held product development roles at W.L. Gore & Associates, focused on the development of high-performance materials for industrial and consumer applications.
George holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
